New Children's Zoo - opening Easter 2009
Next Easter ZSL will be launching its new Children's Zoo. This exhibit will provide thousands upon thousands of children with the chance to immerse themselves in the sights, sounds, smells and experiences of life in the animal kingdom.
The next generation
Children love animals. Virtually without exception. They always have done and they always will do.
So, how is it, because of the actions of the adults that those children grow into, that over a quarter of the world’s wildlife is threatened with extinction?

When ZSL London Zoo first opened in the 1820s, most Britons didn’t know what a giraffe looked like. Today, people are not only familiar with such animals, they want to interact with them and protect them.
