Animal facts

Frogmouths get their name from their wide, frog-like mouths.

They are nocturnal and spend the day up in the trees where they are well camouflaged amongst the branches.

Their nests consist of a loose platform of twigs resting on top of a forked horizontal branch.

Mainly invertebrates e.g. insects, slugs and snails. Occasionally mice and frogs.
