Take the train at Whipsnade
Take the train at Whipsnade and safari in style through the Asian region of the park.
There are two traditional steam locomotives, Superior and Excelsior, as well as two diesels, Hector and Hercules, who run on a line that was built in 1970 by Bill McAlpine of the McAlpine Construction family.
The train runs daily, throughout the summer months, with each engine pulls five carriages which carry up to 125 visitors through the Asian region of park.
On your 15 minute trip you will see the backyards of the elephant enclosure, go through the Asian rhinos section, across the bridge, past eight types of deer before starting the climb back to the station.
The trip costs £2.75 for adults and £2.25 for children and tickets can be bought from the station. Trains run regularly throughout the week - please check daily times on arrival at the park.
