Rhino Mayday

The annual Rhino Mayday presents an ideal opportunity for professional and amateur rhino enthusiasts to hear about some of the latest efforts to conserve rhinos around the world and to meet a few of the key players in this vital work.
There will be an exciting programme of talks throughout the day from leading rhino experts (doors open at 10 am). The day is organised by the Rhino Resource Center in conjunction with the Zoological Society of London and Save the Rhino International.
The programme includes talks by international experts in rhino conservation:
- Kees Rookmaaker – Rhino Resource Center – Introduction and News
- Abigail Day - CITES CoP14 Update
- Susie Ellis - Developments in the IRF funded projects in Asia
- Maggie Esson - Extending the education outreach at Mkomozi National Park, Tanzania
- Jane Kennedy - Rhino conservation at the San Diego Wild Animal Park
- Isabelle & Jean-François Lagrot - - Extinction of black rhinoceros in Cameroon
- Nick Lindsay - EAZA Rhino Campaign and ZSL Rhino Programme in Nepal
- Esmond Bradley MARTIN - New attempts to close down Yemen's rhino horn trade
- Anna Merz - Recent developments at Lewa Downs in Kenya
- Nan Schaffer, Cindy Salopek, M.S.Thayaparan - Conservation of the Borneo
- Kes Hillman Smith - Black Rhino Project in Selous National Park, Tanzania
- Willem van Strien - Use of websites to further conservation
There will be a RAFFLE with some exciting prices including a life-size toy rhino. Profits of the day will be used to support rhino programmes in Way Kambas and in Sabah.
