Our horticultural specialists have lots of fascinating information about plants and their important relationship with animals. And they want to share it with you!

In the Aquarium you can come and see (and hear!) our hungry Pacu fish devour their delicious dinner of nuts. In their native waters of The Amazon rainforests, these fish help to scatter the seeds of future plants! Find out how from our zoo keepers.

Head to the Clore Rainforest Lookout exhibit and into the workshop where you will find our dazzling display of plants! Be amazed as you learn how the animals of the rainforest rely on plants in their everyday lives, including our very own pygmy Marmosets, which eat gum from trees because it provides them with calcium that they need for their bones!

Also in the Clore workshop you will discover the Potting Station where younger visitors can put their gardening skills to the test and sow some seeds!

Check out the Komodo dragon’s Living Roof, and learn about the positive impact that this has on the environment.

Just for our younger guests we have the Activity Den, which is open between 1:00pm, and 4:00pm, where they can join in with craft activities and our plant-inspired touch tables!

Don’t be a wallflower, come and have a great day at ZSL London Zoo!
