Get nesting this Easter at ZSL London Zoo
Dates: 21 Mar - 20 Apr 2008
All Day
Join in the nest-building at ZSL London Zoo and help the tropical birds settle into our newest exhibit, the Blackburn Pavilion.

© ZSLTo mark the opening of our new tropical bird house, artist Laura Ellen Bacon has woven a large nest of willow and our younger visitors can help put the finishing touches by making and decorating eggs for her installation over the Easter holidays.
Details of the activity will be available within the zoo.
The new tropical birdhouse, named the Blackburn Pavilion, is an ambitious £2.5m restoration of a magnificent Victorian pavilion, and opens to the public on March 21st 2008. Visitors can enjoy the sights and sounds of the forest sky, and come astonishingly close to exotic birds including toucans, lovebirds and hummingbirds.
Stars of the exhibit will be a group of tiny amazilia hummingbirds – the only hummingbirds on view in the UK. They live in the Cloud Forest, where visitors will have the chance to see these incredible nectar-feeding birds as they dart and flit around alongside sunbirds, amethyst starlings and white-eyes.
