Qualifications and experience

A degree in a biological science and relevant experience in a zoo or conservation field.

What the work involves

A curator is responsible for ensuring that the animals have the correct living environment, the most appropriate diets and care. The Curator is also responsible for finding new animals from other zoos and for the design of new enclosures. Curators also run studbooks for international captive breeding programmes
