Dates and bookings - Photography workshops
General workshops (beginners - intermediate)

Workshops on this level are run by Dave Stevenson.
Price:
£140 per person (£126 for ZSL members)
Learning objectives:
- This level workshop aims to take you from the automatic settings to mastering your camera's manual modes for more creative photography
- Dave will walk you through getting your camera's auto-focus system to work for you
- You'll learn the basics of using telephoto lenses, with plenty of real-life examples
- By the end, you'll feel comfortable using your camera's manual modes and will be ready to take your wildlife photography to the next level
Who is the general workshop aimed at:
Ideally, you’ll be on your first or second DSLR and have a basic knowledge of how to use it. A telephoto lens is also a good idea, and if you’ve dabbled with your camera’s manual modes before so much the better. But whether you’re an experienced photographer or a total beginner you’ll be able to get plenty from the day.
Itinerary information:
Night owls: Workshops held May - July start at midday and finish at 8pm.
Early birds: Workshops held September - October start at 10am and finish at 5pm.
Workshops combine a mixture of classroom theory, with practical sessions around the zoo. Each workshop will have a maximum of 10 participants, plus an experienced wildlife photographer who will lead the day. Lunch is included in the price.
