Toni Beadle - Animal Care Assistant
Toni is responsible for the care of inpatients at the Veterinary Department
© ZSLToni completed First and National Diplomas in Animal Care at Hadlow College before obtaining a Higher National Diploma in Animal Management in 2005. Toni worked with small primates, gorillas and pigs during her time as a volunteer keeper with the Mammals South section at London Zoo before becoming the Animal Care Assistant for the Veterinary Department in April 2007.
Toni is now responsible for the daily care of the inpatients, ensuring that they are given the correct diets and any medication in their daily feeds. She is also responsible for making sure their enclosures are cleaned out and enrichment items are used where possible, especially for animals that are undergoing an extended stay in the department due to quarantine requirements. Toni enjoys working with all types of primates, especially the gorillas.
In April 2008 Toni will begin a course to become a qualified Zoo Keeper, while continuing to work for the Veterinary Department.
