The elephant calf has been very popular since her birth in March, and how the time has come to give her a name. Whipsnade Wild Animal Park is joining forces with Newsround Online to run a naming competition for the calf
To help your creative juices, here is a little bit of information about our Asian elephant calf.
The calf is female and she will live for around 50 - 70 years, this means we want her to have a name that's going to last, so preferably no celebrities or pop stars who won't be famous in years to come! We have Asian elephants at Whipsnade Wild Animal Park which originate from India, Burma and Thailand so any names with an Asian theme would go down well.
In order to enter the competition, go to Newsround Online . Submit your suggested name for a chance to name the elephant and go behind the scenes. The winner will then write a press pack report for the website. The competition is open to children up to the age of 15 years.
