Animal facts

Camels can endure long periods without water (up to ten months) and therefore can graze far from watering holes. When they do drink, they can take well over 130 litres within a short time. They conserve water by allowing their body temperature to rise during hot weather so they do not need to sweat very much. The skin has practically no sweat glands.
