Stories from the Zoo
11 - 19 Feb 2012 – All Day
Inspiring children's authors around the world since 1828, ZSL London Zoo will be celebrating the art of creating stories and telling them during Stories from the Zoo week.
Every day from 11 to 19 February 2012, visitors to the Zoo can enjoy a host of fun and interactive activities and workshops that are perfect for the whole family. Youngsters can discover how to draw their favourite Zoo animal under expert guidance from award-winning illustrators, while authors’ top tips on how to write and tell the perfect children's story will ensure this February half-term is one to remember.
Stories from the Zoo week will also mark the launch of an exciting new collection of children's books by the Zoo and Harry Potter publishers Bloomsbury, which have been written with help from the Zoo’s keepers, conservationists and scientists. These charming ZSL London
Zoo books will be brought to life during lively storytelling sessions by animal experts, while children will also have the chance to impersonate their favourite book characters with face-painting and craft-making workshops.
