Meet the Royal Zoo Babies
Rare francois langur monkey
While some may say that the Royal Baby will be born with a silver spoon in its mouth, ZSL London Zoo’s baby Francois langur monkey has arrived wearing a golden crown on its head. Baby Chúa, whose name means Princess in Vietnamese, is covered from head-to-toe in bright orange fur, with a crown-like tuft sticking up on her head.
Adi the tapir calf
ZSL London Zoo's Malayan tapir calf has been venturing out into the sunshine under the watchful eye of mum Gertie. Adi was named by fans on the ZSL London Zoo Facebook page and means 'precious' in Malay.
Daphne the okapi calf
Following a 14-month gestation period, the female okapi born on April 25 is already gaining some independence and venturing away from mum Elila into their paddock to snack on the leaves growing on the plants outside.
Anvil the colobus monkey
ZSL London Zoo’s newest arrival is already winning over Zoo visitors with her adorable smile.
Standing out against mum Sophia’s raven fur, two-week-old colobus monkey Anvil has a completely white coat which will eventually darken as she gets older.
See pregnant seahorse dads and tiny fry in our new seahorse breeding room in the Aquarium.
Opened in February 2013, the brand new exhibit features cutting edge technology, allowing ZSL London Zoo’s team of aquarists to continue their phenomenally successful breeding projects for these rapidly declining species.
