Reindeer land at ZSL London Zoo

Sunday 4 December 2011

You won’t need to go as far as Lapland to see real life reindeer this year because they’ve set up base at ZSL London Zoo.

Visitors to the Zoo will be able to see London’s very own reindeer herd in their new Reindeer Lodge exhibit.

There’s also a chance to catch a glimpse of reindeers, Rudolph, Dancer, Prancer and Blitzen taking a daily walk around the Zoo throughout the Christmas period.

Well and truly bridging the north/south divide, the Arctic reindeer will be admiring the Zoo’s colony of penguins – whose Antarctic home couldn’t be further from the North Pole. Visitors to ZSL London Zoo this Christmas can watch the Penguins enjoying their not-so-traditional Christmas dinner of fish at Penguin Beach and browse the festive Christmas market.

What’s more, there is no need to worry about getting chilly at the Zoo because we have a wealth of indoor exhibits to explore, from Rainforest Life to BUGS and much more. See our cold weather guide here.

You can now come and visit ZSL London Zoo's reindeer in their new permanent exhibit next to the otters and ring-tailed lemurs or on their daily walk.
