Purr-fume for tigers this Valentines Day

Zookeepers at ZSL London Zoo are spicing up Valentines Day for Sumatran tigers, Raika and Lumpur, with hearts doused in the animal’s favourite perfume: CK Obsession.

The loved-up pair have been given romantic treats as part of their daily enrichment activity, stimulating their keen sense of smell and encouraging their natural behaviours.

Zookeeper Teague Stubbington said: “Tigers are territorial creatures and these strong smells encourage their natural scent-marking behaviours by making them rub themselves against the perfumed hearts.

“We’ve tried lots of different scents and spices, and CK Obsession has proved by far to be their favourite – it always gets the strongest reaction.”
