Big Bertha comes to London

A huge Burmese python is carried by five reptile keepers into her new home at ZSL London Zoo.

Big Bertha, the newest addition to ZSL London Zoo’s historic Reptile House, is a 17 foot long Burmese python weighing approximately 80 kilograms. She is ten years old and was kindly donated by a private collection.
The five keepers carried the snake therough the Zoo from the vetinary department into the Reptile House where it now lives in one of the brand new exhibits. It shares the exhibit with a reticulated python and two blood pythons.
The snake arrives at the Reptile House almost exactly ten years after the famous scene from the first Harry Potter movie was filmed at the same location where Harry Potter accidentally releases a Burmese python from its enclosure.
