...but our animals never left! It may be time for students and teachers around England to return to school but the animals at ZSL London Zoo are always learning.

The live Animals in Action show at ZSL London Zoo gives our animals the chance to demonstrate their natural behaviours to zoo visitors. Our flying, leaping and climbing animals love to show off, whether it's a macaw climbing with its beak or an agile coati tight-rope running - and all in front of an audience! But it doesn't come without hard work from the keepers who train the animals all year round to put on a great show.
Keepers use positive reinforcement techniques with the animals to train them to demonstrate their natural abilites. These are techniques which condition the animals into changing their behaviours and remembering a certain response. It can also help to boost their confidence!
Not be missed - a whole host of animals feature in Animals in Action in the Amphitheatre at the heart of ZSL London Zoo. If that's not enough, there are always new animals being trained to feature in the shows. This is a unique opportunity where you can virtually come face to face with the animals, see them in full action, learn more about individual species and understand some of the training that they undertake here at ZSL London Zoo.
