Absolute Radio wedding
Thursday 14 April 2011
ZSL London Zoo will be hosting a wedding with a difference tomorrow morning – conducted live on air during a radio breakfast show!
The Absolute Radio breakfast team, led by Christian O’Connell, will be broadcasting from the Zoo between 6am and 10am on Friday morning (April 15th).
With plenty of animal action laid on for the presenters during the show – including a brush with a dragon and an introduction to giraffe poo – the main event will be the nuptials of competition winners Rikki and Rachel!
The pair met at school, but lost touch for 10 years before finding each other again via Facebook. They’re thrilled to have won the Absolute Radio competition to get hitched at London’s wildest wedding venue.
The Bride and Groom will marry at the Zoo’s historic Mappins Pavilion, which overlooks our Outback exhibit, and is one of our two licensed areas for weddings.
A drinks and canapé reception will follow, with a few additional guests making an appearance… including Perry the llama, Max the eagle owl and Derek the donkey!
Tune in from 6am to hear Christian and the rest of the breakfast team – not to mention Jimmy the gibbon – conduct a wedding in a million!
Absolute Radio, 105.8FM, 6am-10am, Friday, 15 April 2011.
