For the Zoo, Rojan, 1935

Rojan (also known by the name Feodor Rojankovsky), was a Russian emigre illustrator who settled in Paris before fleeing to the United States after the German occupation of France in 1941. He was best known for his illustrations for children's books. Born in Russia 1891, died 1970, and designed posters for London Transport in 1935.

The Zoological Society of London was founded in 1826 by Sir Stamford Raffles. Since then, their mission has been to promote and achieve the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats in the wild as well as at ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo.
