Becki Lawson at Set For Britain

This competition is a chance for early career scientists to present their work to the House of Commons, and a chance for politicians to get an idea of developments in the scientific world.

Becki was selected from amongst hundreds of applicants to present her work on the health of UK garden birds in poster form. All the presentations were related to scientific, engineering, technological or medical research, and were judged by a panel of academic experts.

Becki’s presentation was from her work as a researcher and project co-ordinator of the Garden Bird Health Initiative (GBHi) , a collaboration between ZSL and other organisations including RSPB and British Trust for Ornithology. It aims to record and investigate the causes of garden bird mortality and disease across Great Britain.
