My main interests lie in conservation, and specifically how poverty affects the use of natural resources and how an interdisciplinary approach can be used to develop locally specific and sustainable conservation management solutions. My PhD uses a mixed-methods approach within a participatory framework to explore the links between poverty and provisioning ecosystem services in a remote and poorly studied region of the Solomon Islands, where people are highly dependent on natural resources for subsistence.
