Other ways to help
As a registered charity we rely on supporters to help us fund our vital conservation and education work.
There are lots of ways to become involved with ZSL and help raise money to support our work.
| Become a patron | |
|---|---|
The ZSL Patron Scheme is an exciting way of supporting the organisation, offering Patrons the opportunity to work closely with ZSL. |
| Leave a legacy to conservation | |
|---|---|
In order to maintain its vital conservation work ZSL relies on the generosity of its supporters. By including a gift to ZSL you will be making a lasting contribution to the conservation of animals and their habitats. Including ZSL in your will needn't be complicated and we would be happy to help you with any information you may need, whether you are considering drawing up a new will or thinking of adding a bequest to your existing will.

If you are looking for something a little different that also contributes to our animals at ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo, you can support one of our projects through the Good Gifts catalogue. Good Gifts is a charity gift catalogue which was launched in 2003 by the Charities Advisory Trust. You can support ZSL by: Buying herbs for our lionsLions love to roll in herbs and £10 will buy 6 weeks of rations. Ropes for our monkeysNon-stop monkey business turns Zoo ropes ropey, but £20 buys 10 new metres of rope and £100 makes a monkey hammock to swing in. |
| Donate via your salary | |
|---|---|
An automatic donation to ZSL each pay day is an easy tax effective way for you to support our work. Donating through your salary means that you can give to us before you are taxed making you gift worth even more. ZSL benefits directly by receiving the donation from you, plus the tax you would have paid on that donation from the Inland Revenue. For example: If you donate £10.00 a month to ZSL from your pay, your gift will actually only cost you £7.80 and the Inland Revenue gives us the extra £2.20 (at the basic rate of taxation). Also if you pay a higher tax rate at 40 per cent your £10.00 monthly gift would only cost you £6.00. How do I give through my salary?Any employee or pensioner paid under the Pay As You Earn scheme (tax automatically taken from your salary before you receive it) can donate through their salary. ZSL is a registered charity and as such you can select ZSL as your chosen charity to benefit. What do I need to do?
