We're ZSL (Zoological Society of London), a science-driven conservation charity working to restore wildlife in the UK and around the world.
Welcome to ZSL. By embarking on a career with us, you'll be joining a dedicated community of people working to help wildlife and people thrive together.
We share skills and knowledge to build a movement of conservationists equipped with the expertise, tools, and networks to protect and restore wildlife.
ZSL not only has two amazing conservation Zoos in London and Whipsnade, but is a world-leading scientific, conservation and educational charity and a place where our passion for wildlife influences everything we do. Steeped in history, ZSL is nearly 200 years old and paved the way for modern animal knowledge with Charles Darwin and David Attenborough amongst our most prestigious ZSL Fellows.
Wildlife jobs
Our scientists in the laboratory and field, animal management teams at both zoos and our veterinarians, contribute multi-faceted skills and experience to both practical conservation and the scientific research that underpins this work. You're in good hands with us, with opportunities to learn and collaborate at every turn.
We are committed to the principle of equal opportunities in employment. We apply policies that are determined solely by job criteria and personal ability.
Inspiring the next generation to work for wildlife
There are so many different roles at ZSL, from zookeepers, conservationists, and scientists, to presenters, posties, and vets, and everything in between.
At London Zoo, we’re giving children the chance to let their imaginations run wild and try out different roles through play in ZooTown, our mini Zooniverse. Kids can fly around the world to track animals in the Field Camp, carry out vital health checks in the Vet Hospital, deliver the zoo mail, get their hands dirty in the Keeper Kitchen… and so much more.
A role play experience like ZooTown gives us an amazing opportunity to show children how everyone at ZSL – be they working in the Zoo café or monitoring animal populations in remote forests – is a conservationist, and they can grow up to be one too.
