Become a patron of ZSL

The ZSL patron scheme was launched in March 2006 at Buckingham Palace and is an exciting way of supporting the organisation, offering patrons the opportunity to work closely with ZSL.

Our patrons provide us with essential support, enabling ZSL to carry out scientific research, conservation programmes and maintain and update our animal enclosures. All of these bring our mission to achieve and promote the worldwide conservation of animals and their habitats closer to hand.

Benefits as a patron of ZSL

  • Unlimited entry to ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo for you and up to four guests
  • Complimentary car parking at ZSL London Zoo and ZSL Whipsnade Zoo
  • Invitation to annual Patrons’ event with animal keepers and behind-the-scenes visits
  • Acknowledgement in our annual report
  • Invitations to our VIP events and exhibit openings
  • Discount on ZSL’s scientific publications Journal of Zoology, Animal Conservation, International Zoo yearbook and our book series in conservation biology
  • 10% discount in our shops and cafés

Cost of patron membership

Patrons are invited to join the scheme with a minimum gift of £2,500 a year.

The first £510 of this contribution represents a payment for the benefits that you will receive as a Patron of ZSL. If you are a UK taxpayer, ZSL can claim gift aid on your donation above this first £510, which will increase your donation by an additional 28% at no extra cost to you._

A one year complimentary patron membership is offered if a gift of £10,000 is given to a specific project.
