The Togo slippery frog is part of a family that started to evolve separately from the rest of the living amphibians 70 million years ago, making them as different from their closest relatives as pigs are to whales. Through an EDGE Fellowship, Caleb Ofori Boateng will determine the size and genetic characteristics of a population of this species in the Togo-Volta hills, Ghana. ©Annika Hillers
