Climate Change

Climate change, caused by excessive greenhouse gas emissions (e.g. carbon dioxide), will greatly increase the challenge of providing for a growing human population. By the middle of the century the planet will likely be 2◦C warmer with more extreme and less predictable weather patterns. This will make it much harder to grow food. To reduce the impact of climate change we must address our dependence on fossil fuels and maintain viable ecosystems such as the forest and oceans, so that they can continue to capture and store carbon.

A few things you can do:Innovations

□ Use the appropriate renewable energy source (solar, water, wind, geothermal)
□ Use less energy - turn the heat down and air conditioning off. Use energy saving lightbulbs
□ Use your car less, or get rid of it - use public transport, ride a bike
□ Avoid air travel where possible
□ Buy locally sourced food in season
