Water Scarcity

Water Scarsity © Martin Rowson

We are currently using about one quarter of the Earth's available continental runoff. Consumption of water is set to more than double by 2050 with the majority being used by the agricultural sector. If we do not become more efficient at managing our water resources, most of the world will be living in water stressed environments and freshwater ecosystems will continue to be among the most threatened in the world.

A few things you can do:Innovations

□ Capture and use rainwater
□ Stop leaking taps/pipes
□ Don't use sprinklers
□ Water plants in the evening
□ Only use the washing machine when you have a full load and run a short cycle
□ Get eco fixtures for your shower and toilet
