Meet the Team
The team at ZSL are highly qualified and knowledgeable individuals who cover a wide range of disciplines from science, research, animal care and conservation.
Seirian Sumner first came to ZSL in 2002 as a visiting researcher, four years later she’s been awarded a fellowship from the RCUK and seen her work feature on David Attenborough’s BBC series, ‘Life in the Undergrowth’.
Matt Robertson joined ZSL straight from school in 1979 and his first job was as a helper in the insect house. After a few deviations over at Bristol Zoo, a stint working with the elephants, and a jaunt around the small mammals department, he was moved over to work on a brand new exhibit at London Zoo.
Rachel Jones, deputy team leader of the Aquarium, has a passion for corals, therefore a recent conservation trip to the largely untouched atolls of the Chagos archipelago in the Indian Ocean was a once in a life time experience.
Malcolm Fitzpatrick, Curator of Mammals at ZSL, recently visited Warsaw Zoo where he met a spectacular species that feature in the new Into Africa exhibit, at London Zoo.
