Education Officer
Qualifications and experience
A degree in a biological or environmental science and a teaching qualification or experience in the field of informal education.
What zoos look for
An excellent communicator; a high standard of written and oral English; an interest in conservation issues; creativity and good organisational skills. Essential – experience teaching or working long-term with children in an informal education environment.
What the job involves
Preparing activities for school groups and teaching: writing resource material for teachers, designing activities for families, training volunteers, designing interpretation.
