Facilities and staff
The Mikongo tourism camp includes:

Six wooden bungalows (two doubles, two twins, and two with two singles) accommodating a total of 12 people. All bungalows have a private bathroom and all rooms are equipped with mosquito nets, solar power supply and cold running water. Bedding material and towels are provided. Rooms have neither air conditioning nor hot water.- A lounge-restaurant overlooking the forest, where local handicrafts and books are available for sale or for consultation.
- A lounge-exhibition room to welcome guests and organise events.
- An administration office and field laboratory for use by research staff.
Camping in camping cars is accepted but not in tents.
Staff

The Mikongo tourism team currently includes one manager, three guides, two cooks and one logistician/driver. In addition, the Mikongo research/conservation team includes four researchers and ten trackers working on gorilla habituation and other research activities. The local staff, management staff and scientific staff are accommodated in separate camps.
Guests may have the opportunity to meet researchers working at the site but will probably not be able to accompany them during their work.
