Wednesday 18 September 2013
ZSL is offering a free and unique opportunity for young people in London to learn and get involved with wildlife conservation.
On Saturday 28th September 2013, ZSL London Zoo will be letting young people in London come inside the zoo and have the the opportunity to get involved with the WILD10 Wilderness Congress.
The congress will take part from 4th-10th October, with scientists and experts from ZSL and all over the world will be meeting in Salamanca, Spain to discuss the future of Earth’s wild spaces. To understand better the work that take place at WILD10, ZSL London Zoo will be holding a its own Youth Summit right inside London Zoo.
Participants will be able to find out more about the issues being discussed at WILD10 and discover how they can help make their local area wilder. There will be opportunities to interact with experts and share ideas and opinions with other young people from around London, and to learn more about international policy processes and input into WILD10 itself by developing a set of recommendations which ZSL will present to the conference.
Watch the film of last year’s youth summit, which resulted in the signing of a ‘Pledge for a better planet’ declaration by 80 global legislators at the Rio+20 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development in Brazil.
