Discovery and learning
Education is at the heart of Biota! The project aims to be accessible to all, regardless of level of education, age, interests, learning style, culture and special needs
Biota! will develop a wide range of different educational activities, both throughout the building and within a classroom setting.
High-quality interpretation will translate the centre’s content and activities for all visitors. An interactive database will allow visitors to collect photographs of their visit and gather information of interest, building a personalised multi-media resource to extend their engagement with Biota! And the aquatic world.
In addition, the project will offer educational programmes for:
- pre-school, through fun, hands-on activities
- primary and secondary schools, through talks, trails and classroom activities, helping to bring the national curriculum to life
- adults, through evening courses and events
- teachers, through teacher training packages.
In addition to on-site activities, outreach programmes will take education and conservation out into the local community in the lead-up to the opening of Biota! and beyond.
