Whipsnade Wild Animal Park - a real Investor in People!

Wednesday 1 December 2004

Whipsnade Wild Animal Park (WWAP) has once again been confirmed as an 'Investor in People' following its assessment by Investors in People UK, the body that accredits the national quality standard

Whipsnade first gained its Investor in People (IIP) status in 1999, and our commitment to training, development, teamwork and communication practices has resulted in our reaffirmation as an Investor in People.

Human Resources Director, Ian Meyrick from the Zoological Society of London, the charity that owns and operates Whipsnade, said he is thrilled at the result, "It's a great achievement and means that staff members feel really involved in their work, which directly impacts on the achievement of our vital conservation mission as well as contributing to our visitors' experience when they come to the Park," Meyrick commented.

"The Investor in People status brings public recognition to how ZSL values its staff as they are the key factor in making a Whipsnade a success," he continued.
The IIP Standard is a nationally proven framework for delivering business improvement through people and an organisation's IIP status is evaluated every three years to ensure that standards remain high.
